What the Mission Trip Will Be Like

City

What will I be doing in Guatemala?

You’ll get to serve alongside our Adventures Guatemala Base in Antigua and take part in a lot of different community outreaches in the towns around our Base.

The Guatemala Base staff wants you to experience the wide variety of ministry they get to be part of, so you will get to serve in many ways. You will visit the Chimaltenango dump and build relationships with the people that live there and lead VBS style camps with the children. You will also get to visit people in their homes and share the Gospel and help with improvement projects around the base and in the community. Somedays you and your team will get to pray and ask the Lord to lead you in your ministry for the whole day—an activity we call Ask the Lord! It’s amazing.

Ministry will take place in Spanish and if your team cannot speak the language, translators will be provided. You are encouraged to learn words and phrases while on your trip and speak in Spanish as best as you can!

Where will I stay?

Your team will stay at our Adventures Guatemala Base with bunk beds, showers, and bathrooms. Electricity and spotty wifi are available too! Meals will be prepared by cooks at the Base, and you will have access to clean water. It’s a beautiful place, filled with great community, and incredible times of worship.

How can I make a difference?

God doesn’t just move on the mission field – He moves right where you are today. But sometimes it takes a journey to discover how to see Him in the every day and how to live life on mission wherever He leads you next in the world.

Friend, you won’t regret it. You are a world changer. Now go and change the world.

Relation of Opportunity to National Church and/or Long-term Goals

The Adventures Guatemala Base was established in 2012, after many years of partnering with ministries in the area.

We SERVE communities through water filter distribution, community outreach, and the installation of fuel-efficient stoves.

We DISCIPLE through monthly Church Activation conferences, “Beauty for Ashes” women events, village Bible studies and discipleship classes, and discipleship of World Race: Gap Year Squads and Short-Term Teams.

We SEND through training local pastors and churches and then send them into their communities and on short-term missions trips.

Everything we do is founded on the ministry of reconciliation to which all believers are called, described in 2 Corinthians 5:18-20.

Mission Trip Offered By Adventures in Missions

Adventures in Missions is an interdenominational missions organization that focuses on discipling. We emphasize prayer and relationships in our work among the poor.

Through our 14 bases around the world, we have year-round ministry to places where “the least of these” are found. We believe that by giving people the opportunity to hold orphans, bring hope to the hopeless, and pray for the sick, lives are transformed. We seek to disciple as Jesus did – our vision is that God would use us to raise up a generation of radically committed disciples of Jesus Christ!

We want to help you tell your story, find your purpose and answer God’s call on your life. It’s not too late to find your mission field…to choose your adventure!
