What the Mission Trip Will Be Like
Known as the rainbow nation, South Africa is rich in history and culture. With nine provinces and eleven official languages, the country’s people groups are as diverse as its terrain.
However, the nation remains scarred after Apartheid, a segregated political system which ended in 1991. During this time, all non-whites were forcefully relocated to settlements known as townships, where many remain today.
Because of their extensive drug culture, the townships continue to face challenges of widespread unemployment, gangs, prostitution, violence, and abuse. These communities are in desperate need of restoration that can only come through Jesus.
BWO’s heart is to see hope restored and people reconciled with their heavenly Father. Partnering with The Message Trust we will focus on bringing the light of Jesus to townships, prisons, and orphanages in the Cape Town area. Come host optical clinics serving over 500 people in getting accurate prescription glasses, or minister peace and hope to imprisoned youth searching for forgiveness, or sit on the curb with a widow or orphan looking for a friend. You are invited to come enjoy the beauty of a nation yearning for a smiling face and warm heart.
Reach beyond your limits in South Africa and experience the freedom and love of Jesus touching communities in need.
Relation of Opportunity to National Church and/or Long-term Goals
We work with All Nations, a "simple" church-planting/discipleship ministry founded by Floyd McClung. We come alongside existing ministries and minister under their guidance.
