What the Mission Trip Will Be Like

2014_Philippines_Teen_044

June 13 – August 7
Teen Missions Trip (ages 13-19)
Work & Evangelism Team

Travel: Following Boot Camp, you will board a flight at Orlando International Airport for Brussels, Belgium via Chicago. From Brussels you will fly to Kigali, Rwanda. After a day of rest and shopping, you will travel two hours by bus to your project site in Rukumberi. One of the first things you will notice about Rwanda, known as the “Switzerland of Africa”, is how clean and beautiful the country is.

Ministry: Your project will be building the first primary school in the village of Rukumberi. The entire community is excited about this project and you will always have children and adults alike watching and wanting to help. The 1994 genocide which left over a million dead, touched the lives of everyone in the country. What better way to help in the healing process than by sharing the hope that is found in Jesus. You will have opportunities to share the Gospel using puppets, dramas and songs in area churches and local markets.

Adventure: After your project time, you will return to Kigali and have a city tour. This tour will include visits to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, Inema Art Center and Kimironko Market. You will also have time to buy souvenirs such as pottery, wooden items, baskets, fabrics and Rwanda’s world famous coffee.
