What the Mission Trip Will Be Like

Important Day - Baptism The children at Bourofaye have the privilege of learning and living in a strongly supportive Christian environment. The staff is committed to God and to the children. The school is located in a rural area, but has excellent facilities as it is just 30 miles from Dakar. The school year starts in August and goes through until mid July. Staff are on volunteer missionary terms. We live as a community and see God doing wonders in our personal lives and in the life of the school. See what God wants to do in you and through you by taking the plunge and checking us out!!!

TEACHING STAFF NEEDED -
Experienced elementary teachers
Middle and High School teachers in English, Math, Science, French, ICT Computing, Design and Technology, Child development, PE, Art and Design, Music, Geography, and History. Teachers should be willing to teach in at least two subject areas.
Special needs teachers
Mother Tongue class teachers in:
Korean, Portuguese, German, Dutch, Spanish, and French

The need may sound challenging but our small classes and eager students make teaching here a real pleasure. In addition, the opportunity to mentor children outside of the classroom setting make this a very rewarding work and ministry environment. What more could a teacher hope for?

The school staff uses a modified and internationalized version of the English and Welsh National Curriculum. Most of the teaching is done in English, but students for whom English is not the first language are also allocated some lessons to study their mother tongue.

Relation of Opportunity to National Church and/or Long-term Goals

The school serves WEC and other mission families in Senegal, Gambia, Guinea Bissau, Ivory Coast. This is a boarding school although families that live close enough to the school can also weekly board or day pupil their children.

Education/Experience

We prefer teachers who have teaching qualifications, though we do accept people with a passion for teaching who are not formally qualified. A key quality is flexibility and a willingness to be involved where needed. Coming to teach at BCS means committing wholeheartedly to a life in community and engaging with what's going on on-site and the people on-site.

If applying from a country other than the USA please go to wectrek.org and find the sending country nearest you.

Other

We really need to have staff that will complete a full academic year so that we have continuity within our timetable and so that we can minimize the disruption for the children.
