The Global Church is inviting you to participate in what God is doing in Sweden. Our partner is the Uniting Church (Equemaniakykan) which is a denomination made up various churches that united together to create one larger and stronger denomination. There are numerous opportunities all over Sweden, including in the areas of Malmo, Gothenberg, Norrkoping, Orebro and Stockholm. There are both urban and rural churches. Some of the churches are very involved in outreach to Syrian refugees living in Sweden. Camping ministry and Boy Scouts are also very big. Because of the societal climate of Sweden, many of the churches are struggling and can use support in reaching out to their communities. Team members can participate in a variety of opportunities. Any age group is invited, any time of year, for any length of time. The trip will be led, staffed and implemented by Swedish Nationals. 

It is estimated less than 2% of Swedes are believers of Christ or actively involved in church.

The following are the primary ministry opportunities in Sweden:

• English classes for immigrants
• Summer Camps
• Children's Ministry
• Youth Ministry
• Outreach events
• Church Ministry

Besides these options, there are more. The goal would be to find out the skills and interests of your team and match them with the ongoing ministries of church partners in the area.

Trips are Mutually Designed with local partners utilizing your skills for ministry, learning from the Global Church, and building relationships with believers in the region.  Any age group is invited, any time of year, for any length of time.

All trips are led, staffed and implemented by local Swedish church leaders. Merge is an organization directed by a leadership team made up of non-American Global Church leaders from around the world. Once your team sends in a deposit, the Merge Coaches of Europe will contact your team leaders and work with your team, and the local church leaders, to develop an itinerary, ministry focus, and develop learning activities for your team. Local nationals will be hired as interpreters, guides, ministry coaches, cooks, and construction supervisors (if needed). 

Housing – Homes. Hotels.

Food – Usually teams are fed two-American/Canadian-style uncooked meals each day, and one cooked Swedish meal made by local cooks, although more Swedish meals are possible. 

Flights – teams would fly to a destination closest to where their Global Partner site, including Stockholm, Gotherberg or Copenhagen.

Ground Transportation – Teams will take public transportation and trains. 

Learning – Learning activites with local church leaders and Merge staff will be designed into the itinerary.

Cultural Activities –  Sweden is a beautiful country. There are many trees, lakes, and a beautiful coastline. The large cities have numerous museums, old city centers, and are spectacular. Stockholm is an especially beautiful European city. In the winter, skiing and winter sports are common.
