What the Mission Trip Will Be Like

People from Kansas city come from all backgrounds and walks of life. Our ministry hosts have established deep roots of friendships with the residents in the areas where you will serve. You will be able to build off this foundation of trust and build your own relationships with locals.

Will you come, join the community, and share the love of Jesus in Kansas City?

Ministry
You will partner with a local church to share the hope and love of Jesus in a real and relevant way through a variety of ministry opportunities.

Here are some things you might be doing in Kansas City:

  • Elderly Care: Oftentimes the elderly will go days without someone coming to visit them. Join us in caring for those who are being neglected by visitations, home projects, and more.
  • Block Parties: Help to plan and prepare a cookout on closed off blocks or housing projects to build relationships with locals
  • Prayer Walking: Provide your group the opportunity to practice the heart of prayer by praying throughout our partner communities.
  • Evangelism: Meet people and listen as they share their stories. Plus you'll have the incredible honor to share about Jesus' love and the awesome gift of hope He offers with the people you'll meet. This would take place in parks, communities around our base and prisons.
  • VBS Support: Depending on the timing of your trip, there may be opportunity to assist with the planning, preparation and execution of Vacation Bible School.

Lodging
You will stay onsite at the church and will have access to bathrooms and showers. Sleeping arrangements will be on the church floor, so bring your sleeping pad/air mattress and blankets or sleeping bag.

Hotels are also an option, which we will arrange for you. This will come at an additional cost of roughly $25-$35 per person per day depending on the cost at the time. The earlier we can work with our hotel partners the better the chance is that the price will be favorable.

Mission Trip Offered By Adventures in Missions

You want to follow Jesus’s example in the way He cared for the lost and the hurting. You want to take up Jesus’s commission to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28) and be His witness to the ends of the earth (Acts 1).

Adventures in Missions is an interdenominational missions organization that focuses on discipleship. We emphasize prayer and relationships in our work around the world. We seek to disciple as Jesus did; our vision is that God would use us to raise up a generation of radically committed disciples of Jesus Christ.

Since we were established in 1989, we have taken over 115,000 people into the mission field, some for as short as a week and others for as long as a year or longer. We minister year-round through our ministry bases and strategic ministry partnerships. We believe that by giving people the opportunity to step outside their comfort zones and join what God is doing in other cultures and nations, lives are transformed.
