What the Mission Trip Will Be Like

KOM2.jpg

This project can be done in the main city where our team is located. Also, it can be extended to 3 small towns where God has opened the doors to work because of one of our team mates who has served there in the medical field. A worker will have the freedom to choose a city to serve and also time frame of work, in coordination with colleagues. New input is always welcome, but we try to be culturally appropriate and help without harm.
1.    There are opportunities in the public sector, as a volunteer, doing lectures and training medical staff in what has been taught and following up on it.
2.    There is a need to develop a specialization in a nurse department.
3.    There are opportunities to develop nurse care in a General, Respiratory and Paediatric hospitals.
4.    There is an opportunity to develop an English training for nurses and administration in 3 different small towns.
5.    Also, in these 3 towns, there is an opportunity to work to help nurses improve.
Usually, in a public sector the responsibilities are according to the specialisation of the heads of the departments and are based on relationship. This means that at the very beginning they will observe your way of working and decisions that you make. Then, according to the time you invest in them, the relationship will grow, and more opportunities will appear and more responsibilities will come.
•    The time frame could be according to what God has called you to do. Could start from 3 mornings a week, then 5 mornings a week.

•    A week could look like this: 2 mornings teaching, 3 mornings work at the hospital. In the afternoons, you could go with a work colleague and visit them or a patients’ family at home (e.g. once a week).

•    You’ll need to spend time learning the local language with a helper and practice it at your workplace.

Requirements: One of the most important things is to be flexible with any unexpected changes. Also, have low expectations regarding the outcome of the time you’ll invest short-term. Perseverance in what God has called you to do. Knowing yourself well, especially how you react to stress and how you control yourself in it.
Good level of English, familiar with medical terminology.

Relation of Opportunity to National Church and/or Long-term Goals

We work together as a team and with others to serve people so that they might know the love of God and form communities of disciples who reach out to those around them. We seek to express the love of Christ in word and deed through a variety of activities.

It is a collaborative approach, committed to working in close cooperation with the national church and with other missions. It is above all a dependent approach, committed to full dependence on God and his exclusive power to change lives and build his Church.
