Our team helps with light construction on a two story center that will be used to provide housing of incoming refugee families from South Sudan and Ukraine, housing to host larger groups and long-term workers, and will provide enough space to teach classes from Art to Jiu-Jitsu. The work site is located close to the city of Bethlehem and we'll stay in the adjacent home with our hosts. But it's not all work since our team will stop working early some days and tour the Holy Land the remainder of the day! And we'll also learn a great deal about the culture from one of the linguistic experts at Jerusalem Christian University who will (among other things) teach us how to read the Bible from a Jewish perspective and from a geographical perspective as well.

What the Mission Trip Will Be Like

Olive trees.jpg

This ministry experience is opent to everyone! Your trip fee of $3285.00 US includes Round Trip airfare! Commit Ministries partners with a large family ministry working among the Arab population in Israel. You will be part of a team that helps to do light construction on a two-story, multi-purpose center in a rural community located near Bethlehem. When completed, it will be used to provide housing of incoming refugee families and orphans from such places as South Sudan and Ukraine. This complex will also be used to host larger groups, long term workers, those who come to serve the needy, and will provide enough space to teach Art classes and be a dojo for the local Jiu-Jitsu instruction. Our groups also learn how to read the Bible geographically and from a Jewish perspective. Our work days begin early but our group will go on tour of the Holy Land just about every day too. COMMIT provides pre-field and orientation training as well as debriefing before returning home. No experience is necessary; we'll train you! Time permitting, you may spend time touring Arad, Bethlehem, Sea of Galilee, Caesarea Philippi, Mount of Olives, Capaernum, Jordan River, Herodian, Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, En Gedi and the Crags of the Wild Goats, Gethsemane, Masada, the Dead Sea, and maybe you'll find yourself digging for sulphur balls in one of the ancient cities of Sodom. You are needed! You are invited! And you are welcome! This is one of the best experiences Life will ever give you!
