What the Mission Trip Will Be Like
For the last 20 years, Overland has worked to pioneer the Gospel in the remote and neglected regions of Zambia. Our current international strategy was developed in Zambia, and we have seen it produce continual growth and fruit from our long-term commitment to the relationships we have built over decades of ministry.
This year, in Zambia, we are expanding into new regions with the Gospel, partnering with other ministries to be able to work in the farthest corners of the country. With long-term missionaries stationed in 15 different chiefdoms (Zambian “provinces”), almost every part of the country is just a few hours from an Overland base.
Yet even after such a concentrated effort in this nation, there are still people who have not heard the true Gospel and still have no understanding of what it means to be a follower of Jesus.
Through your expedition, you’ll be able to minister the Gospel in these remote places. You’ll fly into the country and spend a day preparing at our main Overland base, called the Rapid 14 base on the Zambezi river. From there, you’ll pack our massive utility trucks with tents, gear, and equipment, and drive out along the dirt roads to the villages in the Chipepo area of Zambia.
You will be able to visit individual homes in the village during the day, hearing from them and sharing your testimony or a personal revelation from the Bible. In the evenings, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in a large “campfire meeting,” where hundreds of Zambians come to hear the message preached and receive prayer.
You’ll sleep in tents and eat around a campfire. You’ll live among the people and see what life is like in the rural areas of Zambia. You’ll be able to experience a culture that is beautiful and unique from anything you have experienced before.
One two-week expedition in a remote village of Zambia could dramatically change the lives of the people for the Kingdom of God. You can be a part of everything God is doing in the nation of Zambia.

Relation of Opportunity to National Church and/or Long-term Goals
Overland Missions believes in the value of the indigenous church and community. We endeavor to never undermine or appear to be replacing the local church or community. Rather, we want to come into agreement with what God is doing in a region and with the people that He has already placed there. Therefore, we instruct team members to build quality long-term relationships with local leaders of the church and community.
