What the Mission Trip Will Be Like
Work & Evangelsim Team
Dates: June 11 – July 29, 2022
Teen Trip – Ages 13-19 (Adults may inquire about leadership opportunities)
Travel: After commissioning, you bus to the Orlando International Airport for a flight to O'Hare International airport in Chicago, before boarding a flight across the Atlantic Ocean to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and then on to Lilongwe, the capital of Malawi.
Ministry: For the first part of your ministry, you will stay at the Malawi Teen Missions Bible, Missionary & Work Training Center in Chipoka. Here you will work hand in hand with the staff and students on construction projects for the school. After your projects, you will put on your backpacks and go to the mountains. With Teen Missions staff and students as guides, you will hike between towns and villages, where Teen Missions has both Rescue Units and Sunday School circuit ministries. You will tell people about Jesus, show them the JESUS Film, pray for people and connect them with local churches.
Adventure: At the end of your summer, on overnight safari trip is planned to Lowonde National Park. Here you may see many of Africa's amazing wildlife on a game drive through the untouched wilderness. Keep your eyes open for elephants, hippos, various antelopes, crocodiles and baboons. You will also visit Senga Bay and have the opportunity to shop for wood carvings, spearheads, jewelry, drums, and fabrics, as well as go for a swim in Lake Malawi.

Relation of Opportunity to National Church and/or Long-term Goals
With 50+ years of experience in long and short term missions ministry, Teen Missions has developed a strong relationship with the national church. Teen Missions has ministry bases in 22 countries where local youth from the national churches receive training and national church ministries receive work and evangelism projects. With over 300 full-time staff members (mostly nationals), we have a long-term presence on the ground long after the short-term team departs. This ensures that the valuable work and evangelism ministries of our summer teams are woven into the daily year-round efforts of the local host effecting lasting change and ministry fruit. Most of our teams are hosted by our own national full-time staff missionaries. Other teams are hosted by national churches and local ministries with whom, in most cases, we’ve been working with for years (if not decades).
Additional Trip Information
NOT Included: $30 registration fee, travel to and from Orlando, FL, and personal spending money.
For all teams outside of the U.S., you will need to obtain a passport.
