What the Mission Trip Will Be Like
We serve orphaned and impoverished children in Debre Zeyit, Ethiopia. Our children need an education. They need global learning. They need fun. They need hope. With your help, we can provide this in an unforgettable summer camp format. We will develop a schedule and curriculum that uses the skills and talents of our volunteers. We are open to anything from English as a second language to soccer to painting. If you have the skills to teach or instruct any subject matter, we have a place for you on our team. We will host the program on the campus of our school, the BCI Academy.

Relation of Opportunity to National Church and/or Long-term Goals
The pandemic has disrupted education worldwide. For children living in circumstances like ours, this is especially detrimental. Children in our program lack the resources and at-home support needed to make up for the gap in learning. There is no firing up of a computer and connecting with a teacher, or sitting at the kitchen table with mom or dad and catching up on work. We are determined to keep the children on a path of learning and we believe it’s possible to overcome the pandemic related setbacks by working together with missionaries and educators. This mind set produced a new program we are calling Teach to Reach Ethiopia.

Mission Trip Offered By Blessing the Children International
Blessing the Children International (BCI) is a non-profit organization making a difference in the lives of orphaned and impoverished children in Ethiopia, Africa. Our passion is ministering to the physical, mental, social, and spiritual needs of children living in dire circumstances. Our primary focus is the operation of our child sponsorship program and school located in Debre Zeyit, Ethiopia. Through our child sponsorship program and the monthly support of donors, we are able to provide children in need with food, education, medical care and so much more. Our school, the BCI Academy, helps the children break out of the cycle of poverty they are living in.
