What the Mission Trip Will Be Like

sunset.JPG

There are a few mission trip opportunities serving the Native American community in New Mexico. Ranging from a kid’s summer camp with lots of hands-on service work to VBS and sports evangelism, our New Mexico mission trip opportunities are full of activity!

Summer camp support:

From all over the Southwest, young Navajo, Zuni, Apache, and Pueblo leaders trained during the summer camps are already making a difference among their people. Hundreds of kids enjoy this camp every summer. But the large facility demands a healthy amount of maintenance and repairs, and the staff needs help to keep things running smoothly. That’s where your team can make a difference.

Mission teams like yours make it possible to keep a huge ministry like this one ready to operate at peak efficiency and looking good for the coming season. This is a service mission, but you’ll have several opportunities to personally touch the lives of Native youth. You’ll also have the opportunity to bless and encourage the staff at Broken Arrow camp.

The Navajo Mission:

At the Navajo Mission, our teams participate in the activities of the base bringing personal service, physical help, and encouragement to the staff as well as the locals. Ministry can include but not be limited to: VBS (a truly large one), sports camp, prayer walk, home visitations, roller skating, volleyball and basketball (full-size gym), sort clothing in the clothing bank, paint, clean, light construction, hanging out with the locals.

Other Native American opportunities are available as well. These two opportunities listed are just meant to give an idea of what two of them could look like.

Lodging

Ranging from bunk bedding in dorm style rooms to sleeping on a church floor, depending on the available opportunities.

Travel

Most of our Native American ministry partners are located in rural areas and require a 2-3 hour drive from the nearest airport. Many teams drive a bus or van from their home city to save on travel costs. If you choose to fly, we will direct you to the nearest airport once your location is selected. Should you choose this option, you would need to rent vehicles from the airport. Parking is available on site.

Customize your mission trip

Work with our Missions Advisors to put together a mission trip that fits your group!

We work with you to understand your objectives and put together an experience that is specifically designed for your group. Our team takes care of logistics, ministry planning, debriefs, devotionals, and provides project leaders so you can focus on discipleship and showing your youth how to follow the voice of God and live for Him. While this is a service oriented project, there will be plenty of opportunities to challenge your youth in their faith. We will work with you to create these opportunities throughout the week.

Mission Trip Offered By Adventures in Missions

You want to follow Jesus’s example in the way He cared for the lost and the hurting. You want to take up Jesus’s commission to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28) and be His witness to the ends of the earth (Acts 1).

Adventures in Missions is an interdenominational missions organization that focuses on discipleship. We emphasize prayer and relationships in our work around the world. We seek to disciple as Jesus did; our vision is that God would use us to raise up a generation of radically committed disciples of Jesus Christ.

Since we were established in 1989, we have taken over 115,000 people into the mission field, some for as short as a week and others for as long as a year or longer. We minister year-round through our ministry bases and strategic ministry partnerships. We believe that by giving people the opportunity to step outside their comfort zones and join what God is doing in other cultures and nations, lives are transformed.
