What the Mission Trip Will Be Like

If you have a deep desire to see people flourish, this trip is for you.

Join our community of World Race alumni in Asheville, NC as a tangible presence of Christ in that area. You’ll serve at the Black Mountain Home for Children by helping run their thrift store and the cafe that supports the ministry. You’ll also closely work with Bounty and Soul: an organization that works to provide healthy food options to the poor and hungry through sustainable food rescue and distribution. On top of all of that, you’ll spend time practically serving, loving and reaching out to your neighbors in the surrounding area. Get ready for your faith to be stretched and challenged in this environment.

The foothills of North Carolina will be where your heart comes alive for a gospel that is hopeful and relevant here in America. Roll up your sleeves to serve in a variety of ways that will support and impact the local community. Everything you do will be able to be translated to the place you call home after this trip. You’ll do all of this in an environment full of young people like you learning to live for God right here in America. Learn to live out “life is missions, and missions is life” while practically serving in Asheville.

So much of the world has changed since March 2020. But our mission of awakening and activating the body of Christ to share the gospel has not. We shifted our efforts from global to local overnight. We now have trips planned, both internationally and domestically, under constant review from our risk management team. For over 30 years, we’ve been constantly innovating our programs and organization to stay in sync with the changes going on in the world while remaining focused on our mission. COVID-19 brings new challenges, but with them big opportunities! We are still launching! Join us!

Relation of Opportunity to National Church and/or Long-term Goals

We want to cultivate long-term, global change in people and projects that will continue long after our work is done. We have a kingdom-of-God paradigm that is bigger than just the reach of our ministry, and we encourage participants to adopt the same mindset. We emphasize strategic partnership with long-term missionaries and local churches who are making a sustainable impact in their country and community for the Kingdom of God. You will come alongside these partners to add support and encouragement to their established ministry that carries on beyond your time with them.

Mission Trip Offered By Adventures in Missions

You want to follow Jesus’s example in the way He cared for the lost and the hurting. You want to take up Jesus’s commission to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28) and be His witness to the ends of the earth (Acts 1).

Adventures in Missions is an interdenominational missions organization that focuses on discipleship. We emphasize prayer and relationships in our work around the world. We seek to disciple as Jesus did; our vision is that God would use us to raise up a generation of radically committed disciples of Jesus Christ.

Since we were established in 1989, we have taken over 115,000 people into the mission field, some for as short as a week and others for as long as a year or longer. We minister year-round through our ministry bases and strategic ministry partnerships. We believe that by giving people the opportunity to step outside their comfort zones and join what God is doing in other cultures and nations, lives are transformed.
