What the Mission Trip Will Be Like

DP3_9877.jpg

The Appalachia Service Project Fellowship Program is structured in a way that focuses on personal, professional, and vocational development while serving families and volunteers in Appalachia. Fellows live in an intentional community and serve side-by-side in the mission of eradicating substandard housing. The impact they make goes far beyond their own efforts as they work within our home repair and/or new build teams to transform the lives of volunteers, homeowners, communities, and more. All year long Fellows are surrounded by the beauty of the Appalachian Mountains, the stillness of small communities, and a supportive environment that allows them to really listen to God’s call.

Key responsibilities include: Manage construction project, provide volunteer service, serve the community, ensure that a spiritual environment is fostered, actively contribute to the staff team, and actively participating in the vocational discernment aspect of the fellowship program.

Mission Trip Offered By Appalachia Service Project

Appalachia Service Project (ASP) provides one of the most rewarding structured service opportunities in the nation — bringing thousands of volunteers from around the country to rural Central Appalachia to repair homes for low-income families. ASP is more than just a building program. Yes, Appalachia’s families urgently need your help, but they can help change your life; because when you change the lives of others, they have a way of changing you, too.

Appalachia Service Project (ASP) is a Christian ministry, open to all people, that inspires hope and service through volunteer home repair in Central Appalachia. Our vision is to see substandard housing in Central Appalachia eradicated and everyone who comes in contact with ASP transformed.
