What the Mission Trip Will Be Like
Seventeen years ago, a retired NFL player built a world-class skatepark on the Baja Peninsula in Pescadero. He wanted it to be a ray of light in a dark community. But the skatepark has since gone fairly dormant. And to make matters worse, in the fall of 2014, it was hit hard by Hurricane Odile. While the skate bowl itself is still quite functional, a lot of the amenities were damaged. You can be part of repairing and revitalizing this park, and helping us move it toward its original intent. Our vision, coordinated with locals, is to see this park become a place of restoration and recreation for the youth in the community of Pescadero. (Skaters are welcome and can use the park, but it’s not required!)
When you serve in Baja with Group International Mission Trips, you’ll have the chance to serve alongside a group of people who are doing relief work due to the aftermath of hurricane Odile, which left a trail of destruction in the Baja area September of 2014. This global experience will grow your faith and expand your understanding of a different culture from your own.
Building relationships with God and with one another are guaranteed outcomes of a short-term mission trip with Group Mission Trips International.
