What the Mission Trip Will Be Like
We Need Your Help as we Serve the people of Guyana
A national tragedy in the late 1970's resulted in the evacuation of nearly all evangelical missionaries in Guyana. The lack of any evangelical influence made room for substantial growth of the Muslim and Hindu populations. Not only do many Guyanese not know Christ, but they are economically poor as well. The harsh poverty has caused over half of their citizens to migrate to other countries.
Service Opportunities in Guyana:
Bold Hope is not only partnered for short-term missions, but is also partnered in deep, long-lasting HOPE initiatives. This means your group may come and make lasting connections through child sponsorships and the support of ongoing ministry efforts year-round. Before your trip, we will work together to learn about your group and prepare you to have a significant impact during your missions experience. On your trip, you will be greeted by our friendly staff as you arrive in Guyana; they will guide you through the week, attending to you as you serve the people.
We partner with a missionary/pastor that has been committed to the people of Guyana for the past ten years. Pastor John and his family were involved in church planting in western Guyana, before being called to lead two churches in the east who’d been without pastors for the past 30 years. He is passionate about training others to become pastors and church leaders. Eastern Guyana is comprised mostly of Hindu and Muslim communities, which is why relational evangelism in this tiny nation is so important. Through things like Vacation Bible School, community cleanup, evangelism, tutoring, and men’s/women’s ministry, our partners seek to truly know the people they serve in order that they might love them well.

Relation of Opportunity to National Church and/or Long-term Goals
We travel to Guyana in support of the local church and in particular, to support two local congregations. With your help, we can meet their needs and reach out to the surrounding community with the love of Christ.
Additional Trip Information
Groups pay registration fee of $495 per group (10+ people)
Small groups/individuals pay a registration fee of $100 per person.
This pricing includes travel in Guyana but not flights to/from Guyana.
Before your mission experience, Bold Hope will prepare you with resources to gather your team, fundraising ideas and suggestions, a complete itinerary, a Bold Hope Mission Consultant, cultural and medical information, help with securing plane tickets, a packing list, a community needs list, information on acquiring a passport, and many other pre-trip helps. We also provide pre-trip training materials and slide presentations. We can help you craft specialized training including information on cultural challenges, evangelizing in love, and logistical specifics that may interest those who choose to serve with you.
At the end of the week, you are invited to debrief the week as a group with our team on the ground. We also provide resources so that you can continue this debriefing when you return home. During debrief, we encourage reflection on how God moved during the week as well as what God may be calling you into as a result of the week in ministry. This debrief time is low key, yet powerful. We present opportunities to appreciate others, sponsor children, serve on future trips, and more during this end of the week time! Our hope is that this week on mission gives opportunity for your team to travel home with a mission to impact there as well.
