What the Mission Trip Will Be Like
"An absolute first class ministry that takes care of every detail! Can't wait to come back! By far best host I've worked with on a mission trip!" Jody. Boca Community Church.
Did you know that Alaska is the least church-attending state in the US? People think of Alaska as a tourist destination, but there is a giant need for the Gospel here!
Partnering with local churches here, we facilitate mission volunteers and church teams working direct with non-churched children, youth and adults in local city parks — feeding meals to the hungry, backyard Bible school, sports, games and crafts. Most of the neighborhoods we work in are amazingly multi-ethnic. Three out of the top five most diverse communities in America are in Anchorage, Alaska and we work in all three. Our goal is nothing less than a multiplying, church planting Jesus Movement here in Alaska.
Our housing is clean and comfortable and safe. Our food is the best! In light of the Covid 19 pandemic, we'll be taking all precautions to keep you safe and healthy and also to protect the kids that we work with in the local public parks and mobile home parks. We will also show off some of the beauty of Alaska while you are here!
We live here in Alaska and know Alaska. We are not a BIG mission that is scattered all over the world. We are focused only on Alaska. Our passion is reaching OUR state with the Gospel Good news. We host far more volunteers than anybody else. Our two biggest compliments are that we are SO WELL ORGANIZED and the food is the best ever on a mission trip!
At lunch, you'll feed hungry, disadvantaged kids a good meal. In the afternoons, you will work in local parks doing backyard bible school, games and recreation with unchurched children and youth. You will be giving out boxes of food to families in need. In the evenings you will help host neighborhood evangelistic park parties. We are happy to have individuals, families, school and church groups.

A typical week schedule as follows:
Sunday. Arrive Anchorage, Alaska.
Monday- Friday. Ministry Project
Saturday. Guided Sightseeing. Fly home Saturday evening.
Sunday, arrive home.
Fun? Oh yeah. One day, we'll take you on a spectacular, jaw-dropping drive south from Anchorage along Turnagain Arm – an inlet named by the famous explorer Captain Cook. Look for eagles and whales in the sea on your right and sheep on the mountains to your left. First, we’ll stop at the Wildlife Conservation Center and see grizzly & black bears, caribou, moose, buffalo and other Alaskan crittersThen we arrive in magical Portage Valley. You’re surrounded by majestic blue glaciers! We'll take a short, easy hike to a glacier and experience the wilderness. Maybe we’ll see a bear or a moose! How often do you get a chance to throw a snowball in mid summer? Later, we’ll take an hour boat cruise to the face of a glacier and (hopefully) watch it calf. .We live here in Alaska and have been doing this a long time. We have more experience than anyone else in hosting mission volunteers. In the past five years we have hosted more than 7,000 volunteers. Folks keep coming back again and again because they trust us, we exceed expectations, enjoy the best food every on a mission trip, and do significant ministry with people.

Mission Trip Offered By GraceWorks/ Global Partnership Ministries
Global Partnership Ministries started 24 years ago to help respond to the newly opening doors in Eastern Europe. Over that time, we have taken almost 3,000 people overseas on mission for Christ. Nine years ago we moved to Alaska. Since then, we have hosted several thousand volunteer missionaries here in Alaska.
In Alaska, we are known as “GRACEWORKS”
We believe that the Bible is God’s Word; that people are lost without Christ; and that it is our responsibility to get the Message to people. The Great Commission is not just that people ought to go to church. It is for the Church to go to people! We have also found that we usually have to serve people and demonstrate love before they are ready to listen to what we have to say. They don’t care what we know until they know that we care.
Our primary fields of focus are Alaska and Romania. Each year we help facilitate hundreds of volunteers serving all over Alaska which is almost three times the size of Texas! Our strategy is to use volunteer teams to help reach people and start small groups to disciple those we reach. We are especially pleased that 16 small groups involving 60 people started as a result of our “GraceWorks” ministry volunteers this past summer. Most of these groups are continuing led by local church leaders, our staff and local missionaries!
Why Alaska? Most people think of Alaska only as a tourist destination. God certainly worked overtime making it one of the most spectacularly beautiful places on the earth. However, it is also spiritually dark. The Pew Research Center recently released a study that found Alaska to have the lowest church attendance in the United States. WE NEED HELP!
