What the Mission Trip Will Be Like

2016-2017 Class Photo

This is an internship/volunteer position so there would be no pay but it is free for those coming to serve. This would be a great opportunity for individuals studying in the eduction field as you will gain tons of hands on experience. Depending on your school, this could even be counted as your classroom hours need to complete your degree. Either way, you can earn Community Service hours while serving on our campus and in our local communities.

Job Description would include helping to prep and plan daily classroom activities, working with students from literally around the world (occasionally in a bilingual setting). You would also be responsible for the care and well-being of children ranging in ages from toddler to 6 (in the preschool) and various grades in a one room classroom setting (if working with the grade school students).

Right now, the schools are only offered to our local missionary kids & the kids whose parents are attending our Discipleship Training Schools & Secondary Schools offered to YWAM missionaries through our Training Department. We are hoping in the next few years to expand both the Preschool & the Foundation School (grade school) to include local kids as well & at that time we will offer our own mix of US & Latin American Curriculum that also includes an emphasis on living in missions. The goal is that the school will be completely bilingual and kids will be able to continue on through graduation or if they move or choose will also be on point with locals schools (in the US & Latin America) when they need to make that transition.

You may be asked to assist with some of this setup especially if your background is education.

Application and background checks will be necessary since you will be working with children. Passport is required.

Mission Trip Offered By YWAM San Diego/Baja

YWAM San Diego/ Baja is a branch of a larger, global organization called, Youth with a Mission. YWAM for short is an international missions organization dedicated to the mobilization of young people in spreading the gospel to every corner of the earth. To that end here at YWAM San Diego / Baja we offer a wide variety of opportunities to get involved in missions: from doing a two day build with Homes of Hope, to doing a 5 month Discipleship Training School and everything in between.

YWAM San Diego/Baja was started in October 1991 by Sean and Janet Lambert. Our vision in the beginning was to mobilize groups that wanted to come to Mexico and beyond to serve the needs of the poor, both practically and spiritually.

As this vision grew and expanded, transformational training courses were added. Today, we provide training at two campuses in ten different schools year-round, along with many seminars and conferences through the University of the Nations.

Our vision is now: Go, Serve, Transform.
