What the Mission Trip Will Be Like

“Help out at our Teaching Project in Zanzibar, adding HOPE into childrens lives”.

Further Information:

This project has a great need for volunteers to help assist our Local teachers in bettering Education in Zanzibar. This project is very rewarding, as you will be helping add HOPE and LOVE in many less privileged Children’s lives. Our aim is to improve the education in Zanzibar as a whole. As a volunteer you have the opportunity to assist the local teacher in the Classroom. We have a great need for assistance with sports and teaching in the classrooms. Your help will be so much appreciated.

The school is based in Mbweni area close to the beach (1km away). The school’s name is Willey Academy. The accommodation is walking distance to the School.

All volunteers must be 18 years old (If you are younger than 18 years old then we will require a Permission letter from your Parents agreeing to your Travel). If you are not a qualified Doctor or Nurse then you are most welcome to assist our Nurses and Doctors (however you will not be able to work hands on with the patients). We do prefer qualified Doctors and Nurses to join us because the work with the Patients can be hands on. If you are doing your internship for your Studies then this will be a great experience for you.
We prefer our Volunteers to come with the mindset of being motivated and working hard. Please be prepared to live in African conditions (in a neat House) and have a desire to work and help out where needed. All volunteers must have adequate travel insurance (hospital cover advised).

Relation of Opportunity to National Church and/or Long-term Goals

There is a Church near by that welcomes the local community and village to Join in on Sundays.
We encourage volunteers to Pray with the children and staff at the Game park.
Within the organisation, We desire to bring change to the community, one school at a time, by promoting the Gospel and a lifestyle according to Biblical values, through discipling and mentoring.
We believe in the triune God – that God the Father loves the world and that He sent us His only son, Jesus Christ who is both fully human and God. Through the cross He has suffered and died for our sins, but was resurrected on the third day – defeating death, sin and the devil.
Jesus has brought reconciliation between humans and God. We can only become children of God through faith in Jesus. By the grace of God we receive forgiveness of sin and the Holy Spirit guides and counsel us.
In order to grow and become more like Christ we need to study the Bible (Word of God), pray (Enter into conversation with God), fellowship with other believers (Go to church) and reach out to a lost world.
