What the Mission Trip Will Be Like
“Share your Love & Care with Underprivileged Children in Cape Town.”
The program runs daily – Monday to Friday from 8:00 am- 12:30 pm (with afternoons Optional): "The Project is situated in a Township called Masiphumelele, which is a 5 Minute drive from our Accommodation Base. (Please let us know additionally if you also want to join our Surfing project in the afternoons). At this project you will be Visiting the Township every-day and exploring different cultures in South Africa and meeting some wonderful people. You will get to experience how people with so little, appreciate so much. We are assisting Many Orphaned Children in need, impacting their lives through the Love of Christ and adding HOPE AND LOVE into their lives. These children are in desperate need for parenting and caring. Many of the children were left alone to care for themselves or were being looked after by members of the community whilst their parents worked. These children are from very poor backgrounds. We encourage the children and continue to introduce a good foundation into their lives to teach them Reading, Arts and Crafts, Bible study, Prayer, Worship and educational Programs. Your help and assistance in running these Projects will be much appreciated. We have a great need for volunteers to come and help at the child care centre. We really hope that you can Join us. This project runs all year round except: from the 20th December until the 5th January.
Volunteer programs Begin every Monday of the Month (Please try and arrive into CPT Cape Town Airport before 5pm on a Monday to receive our free airport pick up). Volunteers can choose from 1 week to 24 weeks (long term discounts are available). Price includes Airport pickup and drop off on a Monday only, Accommodation, Free Wi-fi, fresh bedding weekly, use of our fully equipped kitchen, Welcome Orientation, 24 hour in country support, staff to accompany you to and from the project and a free Dinner on your 1st night of arrival. Prices exclude flights, travel insurance, food (please budget $50 a week for fresh groceries) and transport weekly (Please budget $15 per week for the local transport to and from the project).

PROJECT LOCATION
This Project is based in Masiphumelele (a well known Township in Cape town) This township is well known for its authentic culture. When visiting this Project you will have the chance to see real Africa and how the African people live. The accommodation is situated a 5 Minute shuttle drive to the Project and Cape Town City Centre is only a 30 minute drive away. False Bay, Fish hoek area is one of Cape Town’s most magnificent locations, surrounded by Mountains and beautiful vegetation. Our accommodation is based near to a shopping mall (within walking distance) and there is Free internet access at the house. Within the house is a lovely fully equipped kitchen, swimming pool and everything you will need to feel like you are right at home. Transport is easily accessible from the Volunteer house.

Registration Fee Covers Web-design Costs, Program marketing costs, administration costs, Volunteer in Sa fund, and communication costs with volunteers.
Program fees above exclude the Registration Fee of $270 / 205 (a once off registration fee). This fees reserves your place with us and does not expire. The Project fees above are only due 1.5 months before departure from your country (so once you reserve your place with us, then you will have time to save up for the program fees).
Volunteer Program Fee Covers Free Airport pick up/ Drop off on a Monday, program supervision, Accommodation in a Lovely Volunteer house, Free wi-fi, fresh bedding weekly, use of our fully equipped kitchen, Tv room, staff to go with you to the projects, 24 in country support, Free welcoming dinner on arrival, in-country administration costs and staff fees. You will be given a free 90 days visa on arrival as long as you hold a (EU, UK OR USA Passport) Please let customs know you are coming on Holiday/ visiting the country.

All volunteers should visit either their personal physician or a travel health clinic 4-8 weeks before departure
Flights
Travel insurance
$17 a week for local transport to and from the projects
$50 a week to buy groceries from our local super-market 5-10 minutes walk away from the house.
Mobile phone / internet charges/ there are some restaurants that offer free internet at the beach front. A variety of mobile network carriers provide good coverage for both mobile phones as well as internet facilities. Wattsapp and BBM does work in South Africa you can message overseas with this service if you hold an android / blackberry phone. It is normally more cost effective to locally purchase pay-as-you-go air-time and data bundles compared to roaming options. However you could put your roam on for text messages to over-seas if you wish too. Please open your mobile phone up to work in other countries. You can then buy a local sim card for $1 and buy data to go onto face book, wattsapp and viber.
