What the Mission Trip Will Be Like
This programme is based in the Remote Coastal village on the Transkei Coastline, where faith based people are working hard to make a real difference in the lives of the local community.
Invest in the lives of children in rural Africa, on the magical Wild Coast of South Africa, this is a beautifully breath taking place to visit. You will get to see the famous ââHole in the wallââ and experience the true African Culture, whilst meeting some Great people. We are seeking Missions teams and Church teams to come and Join us assisting in Planting a Church, helping to build on the Missions farm, teach sports to children (Surfing and Soccer) and assist with teaching children: Child care and Youth development. Here is a video of Coffee bay to show you what we have done within the less privileged community of Coffee Bay, South Africa so far: http://www.volunteerinsouthafrica.co.uk/news/191-surfing-and-soccer-projects-volunteer-in-south-africa.html
Missions teams will assist the local preschool teacher at the Child Care Centre some mornings, we also need help with building of the Missions camp / Farm, building a Church, reaching out to Many Less Privileged children, (adding HOPE and LOVE into their lives), and in the afternoon their time will be split between teaching sports and planting the Church that we are establishing.
We will be glad to set up a time table alongside the leaders of the missions team or send you our current time table to see if it works for you and your team.
Education in the Transkei has stood out to be the most neglected and deprived in the whole of South Africa.
Our project has a Great need for Volunteers that can come and assist in Teaching and helping Teach these Children In desperate need. (Showing them the love of Christ).
Missions Camp Coffee bay offers Volunteer opportunities, Missions trips and Gap year Projects, reaching out to the poor people in need, Adding HOPE and LOVE into their lives. We offer short term mission trips for Church teams, Missions team, school teams, Dts teams, Ywam Teams and groups who want to make a meaningful impact in South Africa and Africa at large.
The Current projects we are focusing on, and need assistance with are as follows:
Building on the Farm/ Missions Camp, Farming, Building an indoor / Outdoor Church, Sports projects such as teaching children Surfing and Soccer, Assisting with teaching at the schools, assisting with Child Care Education and Orphan Care Project. We have a time table that can be altered according to the projects you prefer to get involved with as a team.
This project is based in a Beautiful un-touched Coastal Area in a Lovely Rural village in the Transkei. The Wild Coast, Coffee bay is situated in the Eastern Cape South Africa. You will get to meet the real Xhosa Tribes and experience Rural Africa.
The Wild Coast has poor infrastructure, struggling schools and a neglected healthcare system. However, our Project has a diverse and growing community of committed and passionate individuals who are striving to make a positive impact in the area.
The village is based around the coastal Beach, situated in a beautiful tropical setting, and is 1km from the beach and a 1.5 hour hike (or 15 minutes drive) from the famous Hole in the Wall (this is an amazing landscape to see).
There is no shortage of activities in this Adventure paradise. You can hike to the waterfalls, surf, Go fishing and enjoy some Great beaches. The ocean is warm and life in Coffee bay is bliss. The hole in the wall is also Close by, this is a Great place to relax at during your spare time.
You are bound to have a Great time enjoying these Activities whilst living in a Tropical atmosphere. Transkei, Coffee bay is one of the most Tropical areas in South Africa (yet itâs not too humid).
We are currently planting a Missions Church that will run whenever we have missions teams. The vision of the Church is to impact the local people bringing them into a transforming relationship with Jesus Christ. We aim to impact the less privileged people at large in the area through building relationships with the local Community. Colin Buchan is the key leader at this missions camp, assisting with the organizing of this Missions Camp and the arrival of teams and Groups.
Here is a video on How the organisation started, http://www.volunteerinsouthafrica.co.uk/news/82-about-volunteer-in-south-africa.html, when Mandy Weschta, saw the great need to do something about the Poverty in South Africa. She then decided to teach children and Youth Surfing and Sports Development Programs (keeping them away from substance abuse and instead giving them a focus). Mandy Says: âEducation in South Africa is Key for the children living in the less privileged areas, this is why we launched www.volunteerinsouthafrica.co.uk and www.lovetogive.co.za to better the education in South Africa.
Here are some testimonies from the local people: http://www.lovetogive.co.za/testimonies
All volunteers must be 18 years old, unless accompanied by Leaders and although educational experience is helpful, no qualifications or prior skills are necessary. However, missions team must be motivated, have initiative, and have a desire to work in Africa, adding HOPE and LOVE into peoples lives. All volunteers must have adequate travel insurance (hospital cover advised).
