What the Mission Trip Will Be Like

The children in the Dominican are so much fun! Looking for significance in your life? Do you want an opportunity to serve people who live in a needy and hurting community? Step outside your world to share God's love with someone in another culture. A school is being built for the community.

We have been taking teams to the Dominican for more than 20 years to meet physical and spiritual needs in various communities.

What will you do during your World Servants mission experience? Construction will be a significant piece of our daily agenda in the community. Teams have assisted in the construction of large facilities such as schools, churches, water purification systems, and orphanages.

The team may also host outreach events. Kids Club is a World Servants' tradition and we usually have anywhere from 100-300 children in attendance. We also visit people in their homes where groups are able to have a cultural experience and engage in spiritual conversations and pray for families. In the past, we have also hosted sports tournaments for teens, different types of women's ministry, and medical clinics; we are always looking for new creative ways to reach out to the people in a meaningful way.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Flexibility is the key! All participants are asked to remain flexible and open to the opportunities for “being” and “doing” what the Spirit provides. Ministry and outreach activities are customized to the community's specific needs and are specifically determined closer to the time of the trip. Our goal is to best partner with the community we are going to serve. Please keep this in mind when discussing trip details with potential participants!

**Customized trips are available.

Relation of Opportunity to National Church and/or Long-term Goals

For sustainable, long-term impact, World Servants staff work and live in project communities long before you arrive. A team of in-field community leaders are identified to build a vision for their community. We train and equip these leaders to successfully partner with our short-term teams in an effort to build long-term relationships.

Once the short-term mission teams leave, we continue to strengthen relationships with community leaders and identify extended opportunities for you to come alongside them as well.

The opportunity is open for groups and individuals of all ages. Intergenerational trips are great opportunities for families of all ages and sizes, church groups, couples and individuals. If you are looking at opportunities as an individual, we recommend that you find others to join you on the trip. Your experience may have greater long-term value if you can be part of a team from your church or community.
