What the Mission Trip Will Be Like

EnGage! First Nations is designed to give you a cross-cultural ministry opportunity in an aboriginal community in Western Canada. Living in a Native community you will work to build relationships through developing life experiences together that give you opportunities to serve the people and live out Christ’s love among them. You can engage with all ages and there will always be children and young people delighted to have your attention. As relationships develop you will seek to move people along in their journey with Jesus.

EnGage! is designed to stretch you in your discovery of God’s faithfulness as you minister among people through your gifts and talents, your training, your faith and life experiences as you’ve walked with Christ. It will give you an opportunity to live out a passion to help others come to know Jesus in a personal way.

Through your involvement in EnGage! you are a catalyst to expand our ministries in ways that would not otherwise be possible. You almost always have the freedom to live within the community and role model the life of a Christian openly. Because you are there, activity and ministry naturally happen.

From your summer ministry we do all we can to weave your impact in the community into the ongoing long term ministry that InterAct is carrying out in a broader way.

After your arrival in Calgary, Alberta the summer unfolds with four days of training and orientation. Then we place you in a Native community for six weeks and wrap up the summer with a 3 day debrief before returning home.
