About ShortTermMissions.com

This site exists to help people quickly connect with mission opportunities that fit their gifts and calling.

In March 2000, Mission Data International began to provide a quality collaborative resource for mission trip participants and ShortTermMissions.com was launched that December.

The goals of this website are:

  1. To become a central place for people to discover, learn about, and engage with short-term mission opportunities.
  2. To provide an effective way for mission organizations to get the word out about their mission opportunities.

Our hope and prayer has been that the Lord would use ShortTermMissions.com to mobilize thousands of workers to the harvest.

For the last 10 years ShortTermMissions.com has worked closely with the Standards of Excellence in Short-Term Missions from their inception through the present. It is with joy that this year we finally mesh ShortTermMissions.com with the other quality tools offered by the SOE to the Church at large as they continue their commitment to sending out short term mission teams to serve around the world.

The Standards of Excellence is committed to helping churches, agencies and schools to send out individuals and teams who are committed to serving well and humbly, knowledgeable about how to bridge the many cultural differences and willing to stretch and grow themselves in their walk with God.

ShortTermMissions.com is coordinated, produced, and maintained by Mission Data International (M-DAT) and its volunteers in partnership with the Standards of Excellence in Short-Term Missions. M-DAT is an 501(c)(3) non-profit ministry that provides web services to help people make it to the mission field.
