Full Description:
Work under a Japanese pastor and with an existing Japanese church to help start a new congregation. Build friendships with Japanese through teaching conversational English and other ministry activities, such as music, drama, cooking classes; outreaches; leading Bible studies; teaching English Bible classes or Sunday School classes; children's programs; camps, coffee houses, etc. Lifestyle evangelism is a hallmark of this ministry.
An experienced Asian Access missionary will serve as your supervisor, and other missionaries will be your models and mentors, providing assistance in helping you use your gifts and abilities in ministry. Relation of Opportunity to National Church and/or Long-term Goals: |
Asian Access/Japan's 20/20 Vision
* to deploy 100 church multiplication teams...
* to establish 1,000 reproducing congregations...
* in order to enfold 1,000,000 new followers of Christ, ...
* who will in turn send 1,000 missionaries from Japan to the cities in Asia...
* that will become home to 1,000,000,000 people by the year 2020 AD.
There's no greater effective way to minister for 1-3 years than to partner with a local church to plant a new congregation! Short-Term Church Planting Associates work with local churches in Japan. These churches are pastored by Japanese in Japanese and target to reach Japanese. The new congregation you help to establish will follow up with any and all contacts your friendship evangelism efforts produce. The new congregation will disciple and baptize new believers and enfold them into their new spiritual home. This is how your short-term ministry will have long-term impact.
There is no better way to learn or contribute to the building up the national church than to be a member of a local church, work with Japanese believers, and be supervised by a Japanese pastor. This is what being a CPA will offer.
