:: Mercy Ships
Full Description:
The Africa Mercy is the worlds largest non governmental hospital ship offering free surgeries to the people of West Africa. With a crew of 400+ people from over 35 nations it is virtually a floating village! Come join the crew as they make it possible for transformation to happen in the lives of thousands each year.
Each year the Africa Mercy docks in a different port of call along the coast of West Africa. For several years Mercy Teams has partnered with the crew of the Africa Mercy. Our teams are a tremendous help to our pre field and post field set up/tear down. During other times of the outreach our teams will assist various departments in extra projects, deep cleaning or in some rare cases offer their professional training for specific jobs (ie: welding, videographer). Our purpose is to offer support and encouragement for the long-term crew who on a daily basis give all they have to bring hope and healing to the poor of Africa.
What can you do? Scrub floors, clean carpets, work in the galley or dining room, unload containers, or conduct inventories - many possibilities. There are hearts needing to be touched, hands needing to be held, and laughter needing to be shared. Join us for a whirlwind time of sharing and serving ... and making a difference.
If possible, we will provide an opportunity to visit the Off Ship Programs including our Agriculture program, dental and eye clinics and our HOPE center where patients stay pre and post surgery for follow up. We may also have a chance to visit our Mercy Ministry locations. These locations may include orphanages, prisons or homes for the deaf.
