What the Mission Trip Will Be Like
MMI will serve in four different districts of the city of Ayacucho providing health care to those who have little to no access. The conditions of the facilities (churches, schools, and community centers) that we hold the clinic in will be very simple and basic. Each day the team will set up a mobile clinic with a triage area, consultation rooms, physical therapy clinic, dental area, eye examination area, pharmacy and health education area. Many of the patients do not receive regular medical. Common complaints include gastritis, arthritis pain, lower back pain, skin problems and dehydration.
Relation of Opportunity to National Church and/or Long-term Goals
MMI has a permanent health facility and in-country staff here year round to assess the medical needs of the region, our short term teams go on 2 week projects and really make a difference—it’s all strategic to insure that we maximize the gifts and talents God provides this Ministry and best serve this world of need.
