j-Team Leader to Japan

Full Description:
Lead a summer team from your church, school or mission group! Teams of 3-5 members from a church or school minister in a Japanese church for 2-6 weeks. Friendship evangelism is the hallmark of what teams do. Each Asian Access team helps a Japanese church reach out into its community through a variety of activities. Team members teach conversational English classes, coffee houses, and share their testimonies. Most teams also are involved in children's ministry, camp and other relationship-building activities. Additional ministry activities depend upon team members’ skills/gifting. They may include music, drama, art, sports, cooking, puppets, line dancing, etc. -- virtually anything you can use to glorify God.

Team Leaders will contribute to the recruitment, screening and training of your own team members. It will be a fantastic opportunity for your own leadership training!

Relation of Opportunity to National Church
and/or Long-term Goals:
There's no greater effective way to minister for 2-6 weeks than to partner with a local church! Short-Term ministry teams work with local churches in Japan. These churches are pastored by Japanese in Japanese and target to reach Japanese. The church that will host your team will prepare in advance for your team's ministry, and your ministry will be a part of that church's overall strategy to reach out to its community. The ministry team is a bridge from the local church to their surrounding community. Your host church will be responsible for following up with any and all contacts your team's friendship evangelism efforts produce. Your host church will disciple and baptize new believers and enfold them into their new spiritual home. This is how your short-term ministry will have long-term impact.
