What the Mission Trip Will Be Like
Travel: After completing your training at the Lord’s Boot Camp, you bus to the Orlando International Airport and fly across the Gulf of Mexico, Cuba, and the Caribbean Sea to Panama City, Panama. A short connecting flight takes you to San Pedro Sula, Honduras. From the airport, you will bus two hours south to the Teen Missions in Honduras Bible, Missionary & Work (BMW) Training Center near the town of San Isidro. You will bus to the coast, traveling through palm oil plantations along sandy beaches, and across multiple rivers on rafts, before completing your journey by motorized canoe to your project site in Cocobila.
Ministry: You will share the love and hope of Jesus Christ through puppets, music and games as you play with the kids. When you are not out on the boat, your team will be working at the new BMW that Teen Missions is opening in La Mosquitia. For the second half of your summer in Honduras, your team will return to the main Teen Missions base near Santa Cruz de Yojoa. There, you will help to continue paving a roadway so the vehicles don’t get stuck in the mud on their way up to the base. You will also have evangelism opportunities in nearby parks, soccer fields and bilingual schools.
Adventure: At the end of this exciting trip, you will enjoy shopping for hammocks, machetes, jewelry and other precious souvenirs, as well as spending a day on the beach of the beautiful Caribbean Sea.
