:: Kaleo Missions
Full Description:
As a ministry of American Missionary Fellowship, whose history of ministry to the United States dates back to 1817, we have a huge network of significant ministries in New Orleans that we partner with on a long term basis. Some of the things that our partner ministries are doing year round include caring for homeless people and helping them get their lives back together, helping immigrants learn job skills and adjust to life in the U.S., drug rehab and discipleship programs, housing AIDS patients in their last months, Bible Clubs in the inner-city, ministry to sailors who are docked at the ports for months at a time, and many other things.
Your team will stay right in the heart of the French Quarter in a church with bunk beds, showers, a kitchen, and meeting spaces. From there, your team will serve the residents of the French Quarter as well as the homeless, children, seniors and many others in other parts of New Orleans. All of our ministries focus on interacting and serving with people so students can hear people’s stories and develop a passion for ministry throughout the rest of their lives.
The cost of the trip is very affordable at $55 per night, and includes all of your expenses (housing, food, ministry expenses) except for transportation. There will be on-site staff to serve alongside you and assist you and your team as you lead and serve with your team. Through Kaleo Missions, we want to teach the students about issues in the city- poverty, homelessness, AIDS, hunger, joblessness, drugs; enable them to have conversations with people for whom these issues affect their daily lives; challenge them to understand how the Gospel relates to these issues; and to inspire them to live their lives in a way that might glorify God more clearly, having spent time on a Kaleo Missions trip.
Our goal is to provide you with the best leadership resources and to free you from the trip logistics so you can lead your group effectively during and after the trip, in order to bring about the most lasting long term impact. We look forward to serving with you in New Orleans!

Relation of Opportunity to National Church and/or Long-term Goals: |
|
We are a ministry of American Missionary Fellowship, an organization that has been committed to ministry in the United States since 1817. AMF has missionaries in 38 states and well over 100,000 people are impacted each year by AMF missionaries. As a result, participants of Kaleo trips have the opportunity to serve along side of ministries that will continue well after the teams have gone home. Also our network of diverse ministries allows us to provide a truly transformational ministry experience.
