Global Partnership Ministries

Founded 1991

Global Partnership Ministries was formed in 1991 to respond to the newly opened doors in Eastern Europe and Russia. Later we expanded to Africa. In 2005, we moved our headquarters to Anchorage, Alaska and much of our ministry is now centered on Alaska Missions. Our ministry purpose is to "link local churches and individual believers with global mission opportunities." In the past four years, we have had a dramatically increased focus facilitating mission partnerships and volunteer teams here in Alaska.

Mission/Vision Statement:
Hi, I'm Scott Kirby. Welcome to our web site where you can find out more about short-term mission opportunities, our ministry and helpful mission trip resources. Our purpose is to help establish strategic mission partnerships and to help individuals and churches to become more personally involved in missions through short-term volunteering. Change your world. Volunteer and Go!
Global Partnership Ministries was founded in 1991 to help respond to the newly opened doors in Eastern Europe. Over the past years we have taken almost 3,000 people overseas on mission for Christ. In the past three years here in Alaska we have hosted more than 2,000 visiting volunteer missionaries. I am especially proud of the fact that we facilitated mission teams in over 30 Alaska Native American villages — all but four of these only reachable by airplane (or dogsled!).
I hold a degree from Dallas Theological Seminary and a doctorate in missions from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. I pastored for 14 years before I started this work. I believe that the Bible is God's Word, that people are lost without Christ, and that it is our responsiblity to get the Message to people. The Great Commission is not for the World to go to church. It is for the Church to go to the World. I have also found that we usually have to serve people and demonstrate love before they are ready to listen to what we have to say.
Our primary fields of focus are Alaska, Romania and Kenya. I would love to help you or your church to get involved in a volunteer mission project. Email me at MissionMatch@aol.com or give me a call (907-677-0698).
Oh yes, check out my book, Equipped for Adventure: A Practical Guide to Short-Term Mission Trips. You can find it at www.wmustore.com or www.amazon.com The chaper on "Funding Your Trip" is worth the price of the book!
Each year we help facilitate hundreds volunteers serving all over Alaska — which is three times the size of Texas! We'd love to have your help next year here.

Doctrinal Statement:
We believe in the Trinity,
the full deity and full humanity of Christ
the spiritual lostness of the human race
the substitutionary atonement
the bodily resurrection of Christ
salvation by faith in Christ alone
the physical return of Christ
the authority and inerrancy of Scripture.

Our president and founder, Dr. Scott Kirby, is a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is author of 3 books: Equipped for Adventure, World of Opportunity, and Dating: Guidelines from the Bible. He married and a member of a Baptist church in Anchorage, Alaska.
