My name is Amanda and i have just thought about doing a missions trip today when a family from church came back from Haiti. My boyfriend will be going over to Iraq for about a year to serve our country, and I thought this would be a great time to serve our God. Im still unsure, but I want to look at all my options. Im afraid of raising enough money to go, but I know if it is in God's will, it will happen. If anyone has an opening for a trip let me know. Im looking to go for a couple of months. Im also interested in working with kids, building orphanages and churches in poor areas.

Hello Amanda,
First, I pray right now for your boyfriend’s safety as he serves our country in Iraq and for your peace. In Jesus Name. Amen. Your desire to go on a mission’s trip is a blessing. If you have not already decided on a mission’s opportunity I would like to ask you to consider our ministry called Abundant Life Orphanages (www.abundantlifeorphanages.com) whose mission it is to provide homes for orphans in Africa. We are located in California and in Northern Uganda. In California, we are going into local schools to teach our curriculum called: The Pen Pal Project: Child Missionaries where we are training up children in 4th – 8th grades to be Child Missionaries. These children will share the gospel locally and globally through our interactive online curriculum were they will use writing, art, dance, music, drama and sports to minister the love of Jesus. In addition, they will also share the gospel through traditional pen pal exchanges with our partner schools in Northern Uganda. In Uganda, we have an awesome project where missionaries are leading Bible Clubs at local schools. In 2010, we will expand our school projects to include a Sports Club and an English Mastery Club (native English Speakers teach children English). If you are interested in the Pen Pal Exchange project this can be done in your home state of New York and we could mail you the introductory CD that you could share with local churches, school and children’s organization after you complete a free online training with our organization. Another option is to raise awareness and funding for our short term mission’s trip in June 2010. If you were looking to travel to Uganda before June 2010 we can arrange for our staff to meet you at Entebbe Airport and travel with you to Lira, Uganda. If this is your option, I would personally work with you to make the arrangements as well as have you talk with our Program Director in Uganda before making your travel plans.
